Okay, I gotta be honest I skipped through parts of this one a bit cause it was getting boring.

It started out like the manga at first so i was happy to see things moving along in that direction and then they did more pointless story that didn’t take place in the manga.

I was surprised that Naruto didn’t sense that Utakata was a Jinchuriki before. I thought that they could sense that kind of stuff, but then again, he didn’t sense it in Gaara before, but that was a long time ago and Naruto has had more training since then.

The filler part was boring except for seeing Utakata go six tails and hold his own against Pein. That part I liked. They sprinkled in just enough story so that if you skip this episode you miss some key events. It all wraps up with each of the Jinchuriki pulling out one tail.

In the next episode it looks like we will be getting to the heart of the fight between fake Madara and Naruto as the Biju come out to play. Itachi and Kisame look to show up in a flash back and Gai sensei is there, which leads me to believe either flash back or they’re going through the story very quickly. Keep your fingers crossed for no filler next week.

I’ll give this episode 3 out of 5

If not for actually seeing the fight between the 6 tails and Pein it would have been 2, but there was just enough story in this episode and the battle was interesting enough to keep me watching. Here’s hoping they do better next week.

Chapter 641: You Two are the Main Act! Review

The Setup

The 2nd and forth Hogake make plans for a counter attack, meanwhile Madara and the Hashirama are duking it out, because Madara can’t seem to get over his man crush on Hashirama. The ninjas are all afraid until Shikamaru gives them a pep talk. Sasuke and Naruto decide to strike first since the 2nd and 4th are busy making plans. They make another combined flaming Rasenshuriken and the 2nd and 4th teleport Obito into the attack. Sakura asks what they are doing and she replies that they are laughing.

Chapter 641 end

My thoughts

Okay so Madara needs to figure out exactly what he’s doing on the battle field, cause right now he just seems to be fangirling all over Hashirama. The pep talk to Shika was nice, and it was a good touch that everyone else seemed to understand just how worthless they were in this fight. I like the idea of Shikamaru becoming Hokage, I honestly think he would make a good one, but I don’t see him wanting to do the job. In his words it’s just “too troublesome.”

Next we have the fight between Juubito and the fantastic 4 as I now like to call them. So Naruto and Sasuke are like, man you guys take too long to plan in the middle of a war. I was actually happy to see the 2 of them basically say “F this! We’re gonna go attack now.” Of course Tobirama and Minato put there plan into action and pull off a nice combined attack. And no, I don’t think this was enough to take Juubito down. I hate it when you’re in a fight and all you get are talking points, I understand that to take on something this powerful you need to strategize, but no one wants two people standing around talking during an epic war. So I’m glad Naruto and Sasuke jumped the gun a bit.

So my big question here is where the hell is the 3rd?! We’ve got Tobirama and Minato helping Sasuke and Naruto. Hashirama is fighting off Madara’s advances. Where the hell did the old man go?! Did Kishi just forget about him? He summons all the Kage to the battle field, they kick ass for a bit, and then he forgets one?! And this is the Hokage we know the most about! Seriously?!

So Temari showed up in this chapter along with Sakura and Hinata. It was good to see them again, but there is really so much going on right now. I feel like we should do a “Return of the Jedi” thing here. You know, how they had the 3 battles going on at the end. The space battle with all the Imperial and Rebel Navy’s going at it, the battle for the control of the shield bunker for Endor, and finally the battle for Vader’s soul on the Death Star. They cut to different ones so that you weren’t stuck in the same place and getting too bored with what was going on where, and with your favorite characters.

All in all I give this chapter a B+

A good read but I want more.

Sadly, not as awesome as last week’s episode was, but it wasn’t too bad either.

There was too much dialogue going on at the beginning which almost makes you think this will be a talky episode, but those who have read a head and know whats coming in the story know better, and so we stick with the episode because we know badassery is afoot.

The episode picks up about midway through with it’s action. And let’s face it the episode is called “the five kage assemble,” not “the five kage show up and fight.”

So I went into this one not expecting to see a lot. Sadly that’s one of the areas that I think the Ninja Storm games shine better than the anime. You get the 5 kage fight, and damn do you get it!

It ends with more orless how the manga chapter ended with Naruto and “Masked Madara” (like we don’t all know who he is now.) headbutting into each other.

Overall I give this episode a 3 out of 5

There was lots of dialogue and explanation, but not too unnecessary that it served no purpose. All dialogue moved the plot forward, and at least it wasn’t moving at a snails pace like Attack on Titan is.

That anime is frustrating. Seriously, if you like the anime DO NOT READ THE MANGA! Please just continue to enjoy the anime, once you are current you will hate the anime for moving so slowly.

Preview

So the next episode will be the Jinchuriki fight and judging from the title, it will have a bit to do with bubble boy the 6 tails jinchuriki.

Please god stick to the story, we get it, you met him before in the anime, but you didn’t in the manga so please do not make a whole episode about Naruto coming to terms with having to fight this guy.

That’s all for now guys, I’ll see you again when I review the manga.

The Lost Tower finally Arrives!!!

Konoha Corner Shop

So the trailer for the Lost tower is coming soon. And whether you like the dub or not this is good news, because it means the movie will be available to add to your collection of Narutardness!!!

This is worthy of a “Shannaro”

I remember how hyped up to see this movie when it was only in theaters in Japan. I can’t wait to sit down and watch this one at home.

But the best part about this announcement is we finally have a release date!

September 19, so get your frog wallets full for this one!

If you don’t know the premise, here is a brief rundown that isn’t spoiler heavy.

Forgettable movie villain messes with time Naruto gets sent back around 20 years.

He fights with several members of Konoha back then including papa Hokage.

There is so much awesome stuff in just the parts where no one is fighting going on in the past.

If you a fan of Minato, Kakashi, and Naruto. You will want to add this one to your collection.

For full details you can read the full story on Crunchyroll.

Episode 322 – Madara Uchiha Review

Konoha Corner Shop

Click to watch episode 322

Click to watch episode 322

So , if you didn’t know. The fillers in the anime for this year finally ended at episode 321 so you should definitely hop onto Crunchyroll and check out the anime starting there.

Now onto this episode.

OMG!!! This is why we watch anime. So much action going on in this episode and the animation was not the crappy Pein vs six tailed Naruto animation we saw before.

Madara shows up at the battle field and lays waste to every thing like I knew he was going to, but this is where I think the anime exceeds the manga.

The manga does a good job of being engaging and quicker to get through the story, and it definitely has just as much emotional draw, but when it comes to the action the anime wins hands down.

This is one of the times that I am not mad at the animation team for adding more to it.

In the manga Madara laid waste yes, but it was quick and focused too much on the attacks and Jutsus he used.

First you see Madara just jumping in using hand to hand and basic weapons, and just owning every ninja he comes across. This really drives it home that he has more than earned his reputation as being god like. And let’s face it, he is the best Sharringan user by far just by this episode alone. He doesn’t even put Susano’o out for a while and when he does he just starts massacring everything in sight.

When he does finally unleash the Rinnengan it seems he’s already wiped out half of the troops there. And when he does finally summon “meteor” it’s just because he wants to look flashy. And when the second one hits it’s made more dramatic by how hard Oonoki had to work to stop the first one and the after math.

In the manga we really didn’t get to see just how much damage Madara did to the shinobi forces. Seeing so many dead or injured ninja really brought the point across.

The conversation between Madara and Kabuto through Muu also seemed to be a way to help the story continue forward instead of a break from the action to explain what’s going on, and then we go back to the action. Or in terms everyone here can get. It didn’t feel like kidney punch, kidney punch, kidney punch, and pause… stomach punch style of fighting.

But this is just my opinion, and I want to know yours. So leave a comment and let me know what you thought of the episode.

Chapter 640 review

Konoha Corner Shop

WARNING DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU ARE NOT CURRENT WITH THE MANGA

Chapter 640: Finally

Chapter 640: Finally

Chapter 640: Finally! Click to read.

The set up

Obito is about to kill Sasuke and Naruto

Naruto grabs Minato with his nine tails hands

Obito and the Juubi are fighting for control so Obito attacks himself

Minato tries to use awesome new jutsu… fails

The Juubi is slowly taking over and Obito is being ripped away, literally.

Obito has flash backs that make help him return to himself and take control over his new body. (Which actually looks kinda bad assed.)

Minato attempts to take him down, but now that Obito is in control he easily counters Minato removing one of his arms in the process.

Minato teleports back to Sasuke and Naruto only to realize that Obito’s attack is stuck to his body.

The attack explodes, the chapter ends.

My Review

Honestly, I felt that this chapter like a lot of the others just wasn’t pulling me in as much. I mean there was plenty to like about this chapter, the struggle between Obito and the Juubi was nice, but not a lot is really happening.

What is going on with Madara and this “ace” he has?

Why is it taking so long for Orochimaru and the Kage squad to get to the battle field?

Obito is so overly powerful that I have no idea now how they plan to stop him, will the alliance have to team up with Madara to take him down?

Will Minato give his nine tails powers back to Kurama?

I feel like there is too much that is not being explained.

And finally what does this mean for the tailed beasts who are part of the Juubi right now?

Can Obito hear them?

Everyone seems to be crying about where Anko and Yamato are. Didn’t Yamato get embedded into the Juubi when it was a statue?

And Anko, seriously?! You think the sudden appearance of Anko to the war is going to have massive implications to what is going on right now?!

Lately the manga has been action packed, but moving at a snails pace. I hope this trend doesn’t continue, because I really like Naruto, but it’s starting to get boring.

This is just my opinion though. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment.
